Ferry Discount

Our preferred ferry crossing service provider can offer you a significant saving on your Wightlink ferry travel over to the Isle of Wight.

After your booking is confirmed, all the necessary information will be provided for you to take full advantage of these special offers.

Ferry prices will depend on the time of year, the time of day and the length of your stay, for example during the school holidays the prices do tend to be higher. Some crossings are more popular and convenient than others and that’s also reflected in the pricing. We always recommend booking your ferry as far in advance as possible to ensure you achieve the best deal.

There are six main crossings to and from the Island:

Car and Passenger Ferries:

Wightlink: Portsmouth to Fishbourne - 45 minute crossing time.
Wightlink: Lymington to Yarmouth - 40 minute crossing time.

Red Funnel: Southampton to East Cowes - 55 minute crossing time.

Wightlink’s Lymington to Yarmouth route is the fastest car ferry crossing but the drive through the New Forest to get to Lymington can also be slow moving on busy days, however it is the most scenic route.

Foot Passenger Ferries:

Wightlink: Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier - 22 minutes

Hovertravel: Southsea to Ryde Esplanade - 10 minutes

Red Jet (Red Funnel): Southampton to West Cowes - 25 minutes

The Portsmouth Harbour crossing is next to a railway station on both sides of the water. The other two have connecting buses to the nearest train station on the mainland.

* The Isle of Wight is part of the UK so you do not need to show a passport and we continue the use of the British pound.
